"Some places are more beautiful in our memories than in reality. This is such a place. It is a simple farm in a small town not far from where I lived. I decided to paint an autumn scene because I thought the warm colors would look good against the red roof. When I later saw the old house, I felt grateful I had worn my rose colored glasses the day I painted the homestead."
