"I couldn't tell you exactly where you would find this scene. It is more a memory of a place I visited in my youth. My time spent in the mountains is always peaceful. As I began this painting, I saw in my mind a magnificent mountain with the sunlight cutting across its peaks and a restful meadow in the valley below. I wanted to have the feeling of that place I had been to before. The path and cabin in the distance are inviting to me. This is a place I want to be when I need space and a little privacy. This is my place of solitude."
